I live and work on a ranch in Linn, Texas, more than a three-hour drive south of San Antonio. I am rooted deep in the land and all that it provides for.
As an artist, my life is surrounded by nature and all the creatures that inhabit it. The ever-changing challenges and blessings of interacting with the land influence my subject matter. It is a remote place that somehow has a profound connection with human situations such as mortality, birth, immigration, nature, greed, suffering, regeneration, folklore, and incomprehensible beauty.
In this series of paintings, animals, people, and other inhabitants of the ranch, who I observe, tell a larger narrative for me. They express issues or topics that are sometimes better told visually. These paintings share my memories and feelings in this landscape.
I share my world visually with others to inspire them, as I am inspired every day.
